Dear Reader:
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and I know everyone’s looking forward to the break. The Phoenix staff certainly had Thanksgiving on their mind while creating this issue, so we’ve got a number of articles about the holiday to get you into the spirit this week. On the next page, you can read about holidays similar to Thanksgiving that are celebrated around the world. If you’re planning to head to New York for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Blair Feller offers her advice for getting a good spot and enjoying the day on page 9. There’s also recipe perfect for Thanksgiving on page 12, and a list of Thanksgiving-related jokes that are perfect for annoying your family on page 11.
This issue isn’t entirely Thanksgiving-themed though. Check out page 5 for a review of Pomperaug Theater Company’s recent performances of Cassandra.Get caught up on local elections on page 6, or learn more about student teacher Mr. Heiss on page 7. And once you’ve read through it all, let us know what you think! I’d love to hear your feedback, either at staff@phsphoenix.com or on our Facebook page (The Phoenix Magazine).
I hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving, and thanks for reading the Phoenix!
Sincerely,
Rebecca Beilinson
