Dear Reader:
I hope you all made it through the storm and power outages okay! Last week may have been crazy, but a little snow can’t stop the Phoenix.Amid powerless and Internet-less homes, the staff came together to get this issue out on time—slightly shorter than originally planned, but still full of good articles. For a summary of everything that happened in Southbury and Middlebury during the week after the storm, check out the next page. And although spirit week almost seems like ages ago at this point, you can find out more about the senior class’s experiences on page 6. We’ve also got music reviews, information on a new tap dancing team at Pomperaug, and a list of adorable U.S. presidents. (Bet you weren’t expecting that one, huh?)
And now that you (hopefully) have power back, you can also go “like” our Facebook page (The Phoenix Magazine) if you haven’t already. We sometimes post exclusively online articles in between issues there, and you won’t want to miss them! Last week we had a list of fun things to do on a snow day in October, including building a seasonally-confused pumpkin snowman. Plus, you’ll be updated on when the next issue will be released, and I know you don’t want to miss that. For now, though, I hope you enjoy this issue, and please let me know what you think of it!
Sincerely,
Rebecca Beilinson
