Dear Reader:

We’ve managed to sneak in one last issue before what I’m sure is for everyone a much-needed break. Although a little shorter than the rest of our issues this year, issue 7 has a lot to read. If you’re getting excited about the holidays, we’ve got a poll and article on Christmas songs and some ideas for what to do over the break (pages 5 and 6). And if for any reason you’re running low on corny Christmas jokes, we’ve got you covered (page 10). There’s also some school news—the PHS math team recently won their first competition in years, something very near to many Phoenixwriters’ hearts—and some world news as well, with the return of Cohn’s Current Events.

Behind the scenes of the Phoenix, some other exciting things have been happening. The staff recently got t-shirts, something we’ve been trying to get together for almost a year. So if you see a bunch of kids walking around with a brightly colored phoenix on their shirts, you’ll know there’s a new issue out. I’m probably way more excited about this it warrants, but I’m okay with that. Matching Phoenix shirts are cool. (Right?.... Right? Okay.)

As usual, I’d love to hear your feedback on this issue. You can contact me at staff@phsphoenix.com, or leave me a comment on the Phoenix’s Facebook page (under The Phoenix Magazine). I hope everyone enjoys their break, and we’ll be back in 2012! Happy holidays!

Sincerely,

Rebecca Beilinson

Editor

P.S. I sincerely apologize for the lack of sudoku in this issue. I amaware that it’s many people’s favorite part of the Phoenix, but it wouldn’t fit this time. Until next issue, may I suggest you read some of our articles instead?
