The newly founded Pomperaug Photography Club held its first gallery show on Friday, December 10.
The event took place in the AP room at Pomperaug, and member artwork was displayed. Among the artists featured were Jill Bonacci, Amber Dickey, Chris Russo and several others.
The show lasted from 6 to 9 pm, and prints were available to order in various sizes. The club says that members were surprised and pleased with the volume of pictures sold.
Attendance was only fair, but co-president Amber Dickey says that she was “excited, proud, and surprised” at the turnout for a first-time event. The club plans to host another gallery in the springtime, sometime in late May, according to event coordinator Chris Russo.
The Pomperaug Photography Club was founded earlier this year, and is the first club to focus solely on photography at Pomperaug. It allows anyone who enjoys photography to meet other photographers, better their skills, and “get some honest feedback.”
The club meets every Monday in the photography room. Anyone interested is invited by the co presidents to “just show up.” You don’t have to be professional, just enjoy the art.
